As WithMe’s Field Technician, you will work out of our corporate Warehouse location in Chicago, IL., making deliveries and service calls using a company vehicle. These deliveries will consist of the products needed for our printing and coffee solutions to our client sites which include apartments, condominiums, co-working spaces, and coffee houses in the designated area. In this role, you will be responsible for the important work of implementing our printing and coffee solutions and ensuring our users and clients have a positive experience with every order. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a customer-facing role. The position can eventually lead to assisting with technical work and installing and troubleshooting coffee and printing equipment. This role reports to the Service Operations Manager.

The Day to Day Responsibilities
- Provide courteous, helpful service to our clients
- Install, program, calibrate, and maintain bean-to-cup coffee equipment
- Troubleshoot coffee equipment both on-site and over the phone with clients
- Work with coffee equipment manufacturers via phone and/or video calls to repair machines both in the warehouse and onsite at clients’ locations
- Keep proper inventory of all associated parts and tools
- Visit our customers and clients in your designated region to check on their operational status, deliver products, provide weekly and/or monthly preventative maintenance, and change water filters
- As available, support our fleet of wireless printer stations to ensure they are running smoothly and implement our solution for new customers
- Collaborate with other members of operations and customer success teams
To Be Successful
The Field Technician will operate with excellence, and as such, qualified candidates will possess:
- Located in or around Chicago, IL
- Minimum of 3+ years of customer-service-related experience
- Must have mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills; specific equipment training will be provided
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as you will be training our clients on using and taking care of equipment
- Ability to travel within your designated region & occasional overnight travel outside of that region
- Interest and experience in coffee is not necessary but will be helpful
- Passion for coffee is helpful, but a passion for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving are what is necessary to bring satisfaction from this type of work
- Basic plumbing knowledge and water line installation practices or willing to learn
- A deeply ingrained sense of timeliness and urgency to resolve problems the right way
- High standards for excellence as well as strict adherence to policies, procedures, and schedules
Essential Job Requirements
- Read work orders, and production schedules, or follow oral instructions to implement and service our equipment
- Occasional overnight travel when needed.
- Ability to obtain any certificates deemed necessary by the company
- Responsible for following general safe work practices
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push, pull, and lift objects up to 65 lbs. from ground to table with the help of a hand dolly
- Ability to push, pull, and lift objects up to 90 lbs. from ground to table with the help of another person
- Must be able to stand, sit, squat, crouch, and reach on a regular basis
- Hold and maintain a driver’s license. Have reliable transportation and be able to drive company and/or privately owned vehicle and submit mileage/maintenance reimbursements
- Ability to independently efficiently navigate and route deliveries and service calls in dense metropolitan areas.

- Flexible Schedule: The work schedule for Field Technicians can vary, including weekends, evenings, and on-call duties, depending on project demands and client requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to safety guidelines and protocols is mandatory to ensure personal safety and the safety of colleagues and clients.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating specialized equipment and tools relevant to the field is necessary. Training and certification may be provided.
- Client Interaction: Field Technicians may interact directly with clients, necessitating excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with a professional demeanor.
- Documentation: Accurate record-keeping and timely reporting of field activities, observations, and findings are integral aspects of the role.
- Remote Work: Depending on the nature of fieldwork, some tasks may require remote work or data analysis in an office setting.
- Team Collaboration: Collaboration with other team members, such as engineers, project managers, and fellow technicians, may be crucial to project success.
- Health and Safety: Compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Training and Development: Field Technicians are encouraged to engage in continuous learning and skill development to stay updated on industry trends and advancements in equipment and technology.
